Using the environment, learners, and teachers to develop children in a holistic- balanced way.

About

I am an international school educator from South Africa. For the past 8 years I have been living, working, and learning in South Korea. I enjoy being outdoors, playing team sports, boardgames, artistic activities, and just being with people. I have a small dog named Mishka who enjoys walks and travel more than anything else in the world.

In the classroom

Curiosity, inquiry, problem-solving, and self-managment all while tackling our transdiciplinary units, math, literacy, and specialists. Take a look here to see what it looks like.

Projects

We are always learning and exploring. Here are a few things that I am curious about and currently inquiring into:

  • Sensory hallways for our common spaces in the school

  • Seesaw recording booths for better independent student recordings

  • Service-learning workshop from Cathryn Berger-Kay

  • Outdoor education in the early years context.

Learning

What I'm doing to keep my mind sharp and my work up to date.

What does outdoor education look like in the early years context?

Currently creating a sensory hallway for our early years departments.
